My work has been published in print in numerous independent publications, including -algia, Dear Movies Zine, Gems Zine, and Sunday Girl Magazine. My essay “The Power of [Comfort] Food” was featured in Eating the Screen: a Film East anthology, which features film criticism focused on the use of food in film and television.

My work published online covers a vast spectrum of genres and themes, published through publications including Flip Screen, MovieZine, Screen Queens, and Wasteland.

I’ve written about the 35 short films that best capture the essence of summertime, relatable ennui in Fellini’s I Vitelloni, the most quintessential episodes of Arrested Development, and the compelling commitment to linguistic diversity in Netflix’s 1899.

I’ve written retrospectives on Lynn Shelton and Joe Swanberg, as well as an analytical discussion of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Copenhagen Cowboy. I’ve written about clumsy adolescent love in The Princess Diaries and the father-daughter relationship in Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere.

Films reviewed include The Civil Dead (2022), Pet Shop Days (2023), and Handling the Undead (2024) while documentaries include Oski (2022), Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story (2022), and On the Edge (2023).

I’ve detailed the genius layers beneath the laughter in Natalie Palamides’s Nate: A One Man Show and John Early’s Now More Than Ever—but also the exhilarating celebration of the absurd in Three Busy Debras.

The best romcom you might not have seen yet? Look no further than Colin from Accounts. Are you feeling trapped in the performance of life as a woman? Dive into Sophia Takal’s Always Shine. In the mood to watch a comedy special that is like no other? Whitmer Thomas’s The Golden One has you covered (or this list). Did you offer a stranger help only to have your kindness backfire terribly? The Hitcher might feel like a documentary.

…and so much more. Walla-walla-hoo!
